Embedded QA Engineer

Our client is building a next-generation defence technology product enabling fully autonomous operation of drones of any type. We develop AI-driven shared autonomy for intelligent, efficient, and self-improving collaboration between connected drones and autonomous systems.
Key Responsibilities

Ensuring the quality of our hardware solutions:
You will be responsible for validating the quality of our hardware products — from early concepts to final delivery. This includes hardware components, firmware, and integration with other systems. -
Test planning and documentation:
You will write, review, and maintain test plans and test reports, as well as own the planning of how we test hardware across our product line. -
Hands-on hardware and firmware testing:
You will perform manual testing and build or work with automated tests where needed. -
Quality control during manufacturing:
You will collaborate with the manufacturing team to set up quality checks that prevent issues during production. -
Improving QA processes:
You will identify ways to enhance our quality assurance workflows and help the team understand the importance of proper QA. -
Cross-team collaboration:
You will act as the primary point of contact on hardware quality matters, ensuring smooth cooperation between hardware, software, and manufacturing teams.
Requirements

Experience: At least 1 year as an Embedded QA Engineer, Hardware QA Engineer, or Hardware Engineer.

Quality assurance & testing: You understand what it takes to build a reliable hardware product and know various testing strategies and methods.

Working with smart devices: Hands-on experience with SBCs or intelligent devices (Raspberry Pi or similar Linux-based devices) and microcontroller platforms (ESP32, STM32, Nordic, Silabs, TI, or others). You understand how smart devices interact with each other and the cloud.

Technical skills: Strong experience with Linux, Linux CLI, and the ability to write simple scripts that support your testing work.

System communication debugging: Experience troubleshooting communication over protocols and interfaces such as MQTT, MAVLink, CAN, I2C, UART, and SPI.

Hardware & tools: Background in electronics or radio engineering enabling you to read schematics. Confident using measurement tools (multimeter, caliper, oscilloscope).

Issue investigation & reporting: Ability to analyze available data, identify root causes, and write clear, concise defect reports.

How you work: A strong team player and communicator. You take ownership, adapt quickly, and stay effective under pressure.
