Department Chief Legal Officer

The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine is seeking candidates for civil service positions within a unit responsible for the strategic development of the defense industry. This role is for professionals ready to contribute to shaping the legal framework and mechanisms for state interaction with one of the most dynamic and innovative sectors of the defense industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze state policy in the defense industry and prepare proposals for its optimization.

• Participate in drafting legislative initiatives aimed at developing the defense industry.

• Conduct analysis of the defense industry market.

• Contribute to shaping directions for the development of Ukraine’s defense industry.

• Cooperate with manufacturers, including their involvement in the formation of sectoral policies.

• Organize and participate in meetings, conferences, and other events related to defense industry development.

• Implement assignments from the President of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, and the leadership of the Ministry of Defense in the area of defense industry development.

• Review draft regulatory acts and prepare proposals based on their analysis.

• Draft responses to requests from government bodies, enterprises, NGOs, and citizens.

• Prepare legal conclusions regarding draft laws registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Requirements

• Higher education.

• Fluent command of the state language (Ukrainian).

• Strong business correspondence skills.

• Knowledge of Ukrainian laws: On Civil Service, On Prevention of Corruption, the Regulations of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, and the Statute of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

• Understanding of specialized legislation (on defense procurement, codification of weapons and military equipment, and provisions of the Customs and Tax Codes of Ukraine related to defense manufacturers).

• Commitment to contributing to the country and self-development in the civil service.
