Strong Middle/Senior Embedded Engineer
Kyiv/Lviv
Our client is a Ukrainian manufacturer of autonomous deep-strike UAVs and tactical strike drones. In close cooperation with combat units and local manufacturers, the company develops a family of tactical UAVs designed for rapid deployment of innovations and maintaining technological superiority on the battlefield.
Due to company growth, we are looking for a Strong Middle/Senior Embedded Engineer — a technical leader who can combine deep expertise in embedded systems with strong system-level thinking and the ability to organize and guide a team through complex technical challenges. Experience with UAVs is a strong advantage but not mandatory; solid engineering skills, a systems mindset, and the ability to provide technical leadership are key.
Key Responsibilities
-
Defining embedded system architecture and key technical decisions (MCUs, sensors, radio modules, peripherals).
-
Participating in prototyping of new devices and R&D experiments.
-
Development and optimization of firmware: bare-metal, RTOS, and Linux-based systems.
-
Integration and testing of control modules, communication protocols, and sensor systems.
-
Establishing development standards: code reviews, integration testing, CI/CD.
-
Working with diagnostic tools (oscilloscope, logic analyzer, multimeter).
-
Collaborating with the product team and contributing to key technical decisions related to performance, power consumption, and reliability.
-
Participation in the development of flight control systems, communication modules, and communication protocols (telemetry, RC, video/data links), including integration with ArduPilot, Betaflight, and PX4
Requirements
-
3–5+ years of experience in embedded development.
-
Strong proficiency in C/C++; Python knowledge is a plus.
-
Hands-on experience with bare-metal, RTOS, and Linux environments.
-
Deep understanding of UART, SPI, I2C, USB, and MIPI protocols; CAN or Ethernet knowledge is a plus.
-
Experience working with wireless SoCs (BLE, Wi-Fi) or RF modules.
-
Hardware-related skills: schematic reading, analog and digital electronics.
-
Ability to work with single-board computers (Raspberry Pi, Jetson, etc.).
Nice to have
-
Experience working with any type of UAV: fixed-wing, FPV, or bomber drones.
-
Knowledge of ArduPilot, Betaflight, PX4, or INav.
-
Experience in real-time domains such as automotive or safety-critical systems.
-
Knowledge of RF communications, mesh networks, and video/data links.
We Offer
-
Participation in high-tech projects that contribute to strengthening the country’s defence capabilities.
-
A collaborative engineering environment that values innovation and initiative.
-
Military service deferment (subject to valid and up-to-date military registration documents).
-
Opportunity to obtain company stock options.
