Pilot-Tester (FPV / Bomber Drones)

Our client is a Ukrainian manufacturer of autonomous deep-strike UAVs and strike FPV drones. Working together with combat units and local manufacturers, the company develops a family of tactical UAVs to rapidly field innovations and preserve a technological edge on the battlefield.

We are looking for a pilot-tester for FPV drones and bomber drones — a hands-on specialist who will help refine unmanned systems’ designs and, based on field observations, propose concrete technical improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct field deployments to test UAVs and subsystems at test ranges.

  • Pilot and test FPV platforms and bomber drones across different flight modes and mission profiles.

  • Identify issues in airframe design, avionics, flight-controller settings, and communications links; provide actionable recommendations for design improvements.

  • Collect and analyze telemetry and flight logs.

  • Flash and configure flight controllers; work with Betaflight / ArduPilot / PX4 / INAV and perform sensor calibrations.

  • Assemble, diagnose, and repair drones (soldering, component replacement, motor and ESC testing).

  • Maintain operational documentation, pre-flight checklists, and safety protocols.

  • Collaborate closely with the engineering team.

Requirements

  • Field experience piloting FPV drones and bomber/strike platforms from multiple manufacturers.

  • Confident knowledge of Betaflight (PID tuning, OSD, failsafe, VTX, ESC configuration, etc.).

  • Basic soldering skills, PCB assembly, component replacement, and electronics diagnostics.

  • Experience flashing flight controllers and working with UART / MSP / u-blox / telemetry interfaces.

  • Willingness to undertake regular test-range deployments.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with ArduPilot, PX4 and INAV.

  • Experience operating various UAV types in combat  conditions.

  • Ability to extract and analyze logs (Blackbox, flight logs) and draw actionable conclusions.
