Our client is a global engineering powerhouse delivering high-tech solutions for the defense, security, and aerospace sectors. To establish a robust footprint in Ukraine, they are seeking a Country Manager — a strategic leader to set up the local entity and drive business expansion.

This is a mission-critical role at the intersection of defense technology, diplomacy, and high-level government engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Representation Setup: Lead the establishment of the Ukrainian office, creating a compliant and effective operational framework.

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive market entry strategy aligned with global objectives and local regulations.

  • Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain trusted relationships with Ukrainian government bodies, defense industry partners, and international stakeholders.

  • Business Growth: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, tenders, and co-development projects within the product portfolio. Lead contract negotiations.

  • Compliance: Ensure full adherence to export control regulations, security protocols, and corporate governance standards.

  • Bridge to HQ: Act as the primary liaison between the Global Headquarters and Ukrainian stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Experience: 7+ years in Business Development, Country Management, or Strategic Partnerships within Defense, Aerospace, or Dual-Use sectors.

  • Market Insight: Deep understanding of the Ukrainian military-tech landscape, procurement cycles, and key industry players.

  • Network: Strong existing network across government agencies, defense clusters, and international missions.

  • Background: Prior experience in a large international corporation is highly desirable (familiarity with complex reporting lines and global compliance).

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in International Relations, Business Administration, Public Policy, or related fields.

  • Language: Fluent English is a must.

  • Profile: High integrity, strong diplomatic skills, and resilience in navigating complex political environments.
